ŠKODA is celebrating victory on its home ground. Jan Kopecký/Pavel Dresler in a factory Fabia Super 2000 have won the Bohemia Rally to convert their third appearance in this year´s Czech Championship into a third victory.
After winning the Jänner Rally and recently also the Hustopeče Rally, the factory crew are now celebrating victory on their home ground, too. Kopecký dominated this rally that takes place in the very heart of ŠKODA, i.e. the town of Mladá Boleslav and its surroundings, for the first time in his career.
J. Kopecký: “It´s been a great but difficult rally, and Pavel and I are glad to have won on ŠKODA´s home ground, because we are getting excellent support and a wonderful car from the brand. I wish to thank all the people involved for providing great support.”
Jan Kopecký has won the Bohemia Rally for the first time in his career, beating runner-up Václav Pech by 26.3 s overall. Roman Kresta in a private Fabia Super 2000 came third. Kopecký won ten of the total of 18 special stages.
The Rally Bohemia saw enhanced on-track safety measures, which Jan Kopecký considers positive: “The organiser has done all it could for safety, and the spectators behaved in line with these safety measures.”
Despite his excellent performances in the Czech Championship, Jan Kopecký´s priority is the European Rally Championship (ERC) that is halfway through now and Jan tops the standings. Scheduled for July 25-27, the next ERC event is the Sibiu Rally in Romania.
