Safe body design

A high quality, rigid body structure is the most important safety feature in all types of crashes. To achieve high durability of the Octavia RS monocoque (outer shell), we have used exceptionally strong materials, especially around the passenger area and smart design features.

During a crash, the front and rear of the vehicle provide maximum energy absorption so there are special engine mounts to block the engine from the passenger area. In case of heavy impact, the engine will slide under the passenger area, where it doesn’t endanger anyone.

The design of the steering wheel column limits movement of the steering wheel against the driver in case of the front impact. Placement of the pedals ensures that they slide away in case of impact, reducing the risk of leg injuries to the driver.
